YANGON, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar private company of Capital Automotive Ltd has been chosen as representative for Michigan- based Ford automaker to offer automobile services in Myanmar, local media reported Friday.
Capital Automotive Ltd.,a unit of business tycoon Dr.Ko Ko Gyi, will open the first-ever Ford automobile showroom and services center at the end of April here, said the Biweekly Eleven News.
The parent company of Capital Automotive -- Capital Diamond Star Group is also the sole distributor of Pepsi Company in Myanmar, focusing on trading and manufacturing. The group also involves in property development and construction of city infrastructure.
Dr. Ko Ko Gyi is a member in National Economic and Social Advisory Council that was formed in June last year and the council comprises of advisers from academia and business, the report added.
Ford, which was founded by Henry Ford in 1903, is the world's eighth largest automaker with sales of more than 5.5 million vehicles last year.
