Manila
Electric Co. (Meralco) is planning to invest in a number of ASEAN countries
including Myanmar, Rappler.com reported.
Meralco
Chairman Manuel Pangilinan said the company is planning power plants in Myanmar
and Thailand.
Meralco
President Oscar Lopez is also quoted as saying that the company’s plants abroad
would “give Philippine players the opportunity to be recognized and accepted as
a credible player overseas.”
Despite
rich energy resources, Myanmar is tackling energy insufficiency issues.
